The excerpts are short extracts taken directly from the 2027 Orchestra repertoire, giving students an opportunity to demonstrate their readiness for next year's Orchestral Program.
Each excerpt has been carefully selected to assess a range of musical skills required to participate successfully in the Orchestra. These include rhythm, rests, articulation, phrasing, key signatures, syncopation, dynamics, sustained notes and pitch range (high and low notes).
Students who can confidently manage these excerpts should be well prepared for the musical demands of the 2027 Orchestral Program.
