Traditional song from Tanzania, East Africa.

The lyrics of Watoto are in Swahili. Watoto = children and Karibooni = welcome. 
The song was traditionally sung by the village, to celebrate and welcome the children or young people safely back home after a coming of age ‘rites’ camp. 
Watoto will be performed unaccompanied, with just our choir voices and body percussion.
There are three parts – can you learn each one? Is your choir able to divide in half and sing part 1 and part 2 together? 

Here’s a challenge – split your choir into three groups and sing part 1, 2 AND 3 as the music shows…. Enjoy how it sounds!
